The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2018 Schedule & Start Date was confirmed at the ICC Board Meeting in January 2015. This will be the 6th edition of the ICC Women’s World T20 and it will be the second time the tournament will be hosted by West Indies.

Women’s T20 World Cup 2018 Teams
The tournament will be played by 10 teams which include: –

ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Group
The tournament will be played on a group stage format with where the two teams will be divided into two groups. Below is the group detail: –

The top two teams of each group will get qualified to play the Semi-finals which will be played on 22nd November and the two winners of the semi-finals will play the final match of the tournament on 24th November 2018.
The first match of the tournament will be played between India and New Zealand on 9th November 2018 from Group B and from Group A, the defending champions West Indies will take on to Bangladesh on the same date and also in the same venue.
On 11th November 2018, India will take on their arch rival Pakistan in the Guyana National Stadium and this will be a day-night match.
Twelve umpires and two match referees are appointed on 25th October 2018 by the ICC Officials for the smoother operation of the tournament.
Qualification Match for ICC Women’s T20 World Cup
There were eight participants in the first three T20 Women’s World Cup, i.e. in 2009, 2010 and 2012. Since 2014, the number of the participating team has been increased to 10. Bangladesh and Ireland took the last two places since then.
However, the process of the qualification for the tournament is similar to the men’s tournament. The first eight are qualified as per the ICC team ranking and qualification tournament is held for the rest of the two teams.
For the 2018 edition of T20 World Cup, the qualifying tournament was held in the Netherlands in July 2018 and both Bangladesh and Ireland advanced to the Women’s World Twenty20 tournament. West India got auto-qualification being the hosting country.
The qualification tournament was held from 7th July to 14th July where eight teams competed with each other to seal the birth of the 9th and the 10th position in the final squad of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. The eight teams were divided into two groups with four teams each.

Bangladesh and Papua New Guinea from Group A and Ireland and Scotland from Group B got qualified for the semi-finals. The finals were played between Bangladesh and Ireland, Bangladesh won the finals but both the team got qualified for the T20 World Cup.
ICC Women’s World Twenty 20 Venue 2018
During the ICC Board Meeting in January 2015, the dates of the tournaments were confirmed. And on 10th October 2018, ICC gave the confirmation about all the squads for the tournament. There will be a total of 23 matches played in the tournament out of which 20 matches will be for the Group Stages, 2 for the Semi-final and one for the Finals.

The opening matches will be played in the Guyana National Stadium. The two semi-finals and the final match of the tournament will be played in the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium.
History of ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Winner List
This is a biannual international championship which is organized by the International Cricket Council. The first Women’s T20 World Cup was played in 2009 which was hosted by England. Australia has completely dominated the last 5 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. They have lifted the cup thrice in the last 5 tournaments and were a runner-up team once.
